The shape of the cup adapts to the lip, which adapts to the cup: it is a sensual and tactile marriage.
Ripples of waves on the sand, the smooth line of the horizon, hazy summer skies. The source of Emmanuelle Manche’s inspiration and of her passion for ceramics lies under the sandy beaches on the southern coast of Brittany when, as a child, she discovered a treasure beneath the sand, clay, from which she created her first teapots and cups.

Today, her atelier is nestled in an ancient troglodyte dwelling in the hillside overlooking the port town of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, made famous by the Impressionists, at the confluence of the Seine and the Oise Rivers.

For Emmanuelle Manche, her ceramic objects and their function are linked by a formal pact.
