Working with porcelain is like preparing a good meal.
The small village of Saint Amand-en-Puisaye in Burgundy has been famous for its pottery since the 14th century. To Jean-Marc Fondimare, it was the obvious choice for setting up a potter’s workshop. In 2009, he and his partner Eric Hibelot founded L’Atelier des Garçons at the edge of the village, snuggled up against the forest. It is in this natural setting that Jean-Marc finds inspiration for his porcelain tableware, decorative objects, and…beautiful birdhouses that he has hung in clusters outside his atelier.

After experimenting for a while with the potter’s wheel, Jean-Marc discovered his artistic identity in the technique of porcelain slipcasting. The technique involves preparing liquid porcelain that he pours into plaster molds that he has created himself. This technique allows him to experiment with unusual forms, such as his unique birdhouses in the shape of water droplets.
