Marie Talalaeff

Paper Sculptor, Le Perréon, France
  • Handcrafted in France. In a celebration of craftsmanship and manufactoring traditions, we tour each French region to bring you our curated selection of exceptional homeware, gifts and collectibles.

  • Ateliers d’Art de France unites over 6,000 French artisans, selected using three criteria: 1. All pieces handcrafted in an atelier in France. 2. Technical mastery of a specific savoir-faire. 3. Creativity and quality of the pieces.

Paper, such a simple and seemingly banal material, offers infinite possibilities to the creative spirit.
Fashion stylist Marie Talalaeff has always been sensitive to texture, but when she first delved into the possibilities of papier-mâché, she knew her art was about to veer off on an exciting new path. In 2008 she launched her second career as independent artist, creating fantastic animal sculptures and trophies. Papier-mâché has literally added a new dimension to her work, as her animals come to life in 3D.

She chooses to work mostly in white, for its cool and contemporary style, with a special preference for sheep. The unexpected singleton in cobalt blue brings a burst of color and a splash of originality to her flock.

A graduate of ESMOD Fashion Design and Creation School, Paris
