This sculpture was created from green wood, which curves slightly as it dries, without splitting. Maxime sculpts his pieces on a rotating wood lathe using hand-held tools which allow him the precision to follow his creative inspiration to its conclusion. After working on the texture, this piece is treated with iron oxide which reacts with the natural tannins and creates the rich dark color.
